Analytics and privacy
This website offers optional Google Analytics to help David Freeborn understand which pages people visit and how they use the site.
Your choice
Google Analytics loads only after you select “Allow analytics”, including on later visits while that choice is saved. On your first visit, selecting “No thanks”, closing the notice, or leaving it unanswered does not load Google Analytics. The website and its interactive tools work without it.
Use “Privacy settings” at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Declining after accepting stops collection and removes this site's Google Analytics cookies. It does not delete information already sent to Google.
What analytics records
If you agree, Google Analytics receives information about page visits and engagement, referring websites, device and browser characteristics, and approximate location. Cookies distinguish browsers and returning visits. These reports cover consenting visitors and may be incomplete because of browser settings or blockers.
The site's analytics configuration disables Google signals and advertising personalisation. Page URLs and referrers supplied by the site omit query strings and fragments.
Storage and providers
Your preference is stored in your browser for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without extending that expiry on each visit. Clearing browser storage removes your saved choice.
Google processes analytics information under its privacy policy. See also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
